Designs & Colors

Design Options

Cable tension and tension fabric structures are available in a variety of designs, sizes, and colors depending upon the intended use of the canopy structure, applicable site requirements, your artistic sense, and finally, your pocketbook. This section is not intended to be exclusive, but to give you an overview of the choices that you may make when purchasing an AmeriShade fabric structure.

Turn Dreams Into Reality

You may already have a mental picture of the structure you want for your site, a design that goes beyond the ordinary to energize and thrill visitors to your property when they see and experience its utility. AmeriShade is adept into turning concepts into substance. we invite you to explore your ideas with our designers and engineers without any obligations on your part.

If your style is more traditional, you might prefer to choose a design with a history of success in the marketplace. We offer a full range of designs of unquestioned structural integrity, consumer appeal, and adherence to building codes throughout the country. Each of our standard models can be easily scaled to accommodate different site dimensions, pre-existing conditions, and/or building code requirements.

Cantilevered Structures

Our cantilever designs are generally chosen for covered parking applications because of the number of columns required to support the shade canopy and the designer's freedom to locate columns to minimize potential dings and dents. We offer single -, semi-, and double-cantilever structures, the difference being the linear extent that the cantilevered support beam extends from the single column and the placement of the beam relative to the column.

4- Post Structures

The 4-post, HIP design is one of the more popular shade structure configurations in the United States today. It is found in a variety of settings ranging from automobile dealerships to school playgrounds. Its utility, low cost, and simplicity ensure that the HIP design will remain a customer favorite. The primary disadvantage of 4-Post designs are the presence of columns in traffic areas where the canopy is used to provide cover for automobiles.

The Dome and the Pyramid designs are similar to the HIP structure in that the canopy top is supported by an underlying steel frame and connections at each corner of the fabric. While the appearance of the structures are different, the designs are essentially the same.

Sail Structures

Structures incorporating multi-sided sails are paradoxically one of the more simple designs available in shade structures while, simultaneously, the most complex from an engineering viewpoint. Individual sails can be combined to create dramatic visual settings and intricate, almost living shapes. However, the loads required to properly tension a single sail and support the environmental stresses to which it will be subject can make a structure unusually expensive to design, engineer, and construct.

Super Structures - Mass Storage and Show Cover

Shade structures are often used to protect broad expanses from the weather. While similar to other shade structures in appearance, the requirement to cover large, unbroken expanses often means spanning large distances with single support beams or cables. In effect, their scale makes the Super Structures unique. They are always designed to satisfy a specific need and site.

Specialty Structures

The Beau Brummels of the shade cover world are the Specialty Structures. Invariably, they are usually one-of-a-kind projects and must be custom designed, engineered, and constructed to meet a single purpose, fill a particular space, or convey a specific attitude. Specialty structures are AmeriShade's specialty.

Specialty covers create a unique ambiance for a property, often becoming the single item most remembered by visitors in the months and years following. The sample pictures are just a few of the many Specialty canopies that we have constructed over the years.
