Steel Elements
Our carbon Structural Steel is ASTM A-500 Grade B or greater. Our steel components are de-greased and cleaned to remove surface oil, grease and rust prior to priming with DuPont 681FD, Easy Dry Low VOC and painted on site with DuPont ImronT 333/40.
Structural steel is detailed, fabricated, and erected in accordance with AISC specifications. All shop and field welding is executed by certified welders in accordance with the latest edition of the American Welding Society specifications. All welds are performed using Lincoln NR-211-MP, AWS A5.2-95. All fillet welds are a minimum 1/4" unless otherwise noted. All steel shall be welded shut at terminations to prevent internal leakage.
We use only 1/4" or 3/8" 7/19 minimum Air Craft cable in our structures with a minimum nominal tensile strength of 7,000 and 14,400 pounds respectively. The cable is secured with approved fittings and cable hardware (Heavy Duty Zinc Plated Copper oval impact sleeves, crimped to manufacturer's specifications and Heavy Duty Galvanized thimbles) as per the manufacturer specifications.
